mTOR (mechanistic Target of Rapamycin)

ConceptMentioned in 1 video

A highly conserved protein that acts as an integrative nexus for anabolic stimuli like resistance exercise and nutrients (particularly leucine), leading to protein synthesis and regenerative processes. There are proposed two complexes: mTORC1 (nutrient-sensitive, Rapamycin-sensitive) and mTORC2 (exercise-sensitive, Rapamycin-insensitive).
