What happens when my trial ends?
If you don't cancel before the 3-day trial ends, you'll be charged for your selected plan. If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged at all. After cancellation, your account becomes read-only — you keep all your summaries, Pods, and chat history, but can't process new content. You can resubscribe anytime to pick up where you left off.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account gets a 3-day free trial of the Pro plan, giving you full access to all 11 summary styles, unlimited AI chat, voice note transcription, PDF exports, and 20 Pods. You will need a card to start the trial, but you will not be charged until the trial ends. After your trial, you can choose the plan that fits your needs — Starter, Pro, or Max — with plans starting at just $8 per month when billed yearly. If you decide not to continue, simply cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged.
How do content credits work?
Summify measures usage in transcription minutes rather than a fixed number of summaries, because a 5-minute video costs less to process than a 2-hour podcast. Each plan includes a monthly allocation of transcription minutes: 800 on Starter, 1,800 on Pro, and 8,000 on Max. When you summarize a YouTube video, the minutes consumed match the video length. For text content like articles and PDFs, minutes are calculated based on word count (roughly 500 words per minute). Voice notes consume minutes based on recording duration. Unused minutes do not roll over between months. Your current balance is always visible in your dashboard and in the Chrome extension sidebar, so you can track your usage in real time.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Absolutely. Summify subscriptions can be cancelled at any time with no cancellation fees, no lock-in contracts, and no questions asked. When you cancel, you keep access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account becomes read-only — you retain access to all your existing summaries, Pods, and chat history, but cannot process new content. If you change your mind, you can resubscribe at any time and pick up right where you left off. We also offer a simple plan downgrade option if you want to switch from Max to Pro or from Pro to Starter instead of cancelling entirely.
What's the difference between Pro and Max?
Pro and Max share the same core features — all 11 summary styles, unlimited AI chat, voice note transcription, PDF exports, and support for 130+ languages. The key differences are scale and access. Pro gives you 1,800 transcription minutes per month (about 30 hours) and 20 Pods, which is enough for most individual researchers and professionals. Max gives you 8,000 minutes per month (about 133 hours) and unlimited Pods, making it ideal for power users who consume large volumes of content, teams that share knowledge collections, or anyone who wants early access to new features like the Learn system and public Pod publishing. If you regularly process more than 30 hours of content per month, Max is the better fit. During the 3-day free trial, you get full Pro access to help you decide.
Do you offer student or team discounts?
We do not currently offer a separate student discount, but every new account gets a 3-day free trial of Pro so students can explore the full platform risk-free. Our Starter plan at $8/mo (yearly) is affordable for most students and includes all 11 summary styles, unlimited AI chat, and 800 transcription minutes per month. For teams, we recommend the Max plan which includes unlimited Pods for organizing shared knowledge collections. If you are an educational institution or a team of 10+ looking for volume pricing, please reach out to contact@summify.io and we will work with you on a custom arrangement. We are actively developing team collaboration features and plan to introduce dedicated team plans in 2026.
What payment methods do you accept?
Summify accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification. We offer both monthly and yearly billing. Yearly plans save approximately 20% compared to monthly billing: Starter is $8/month yearly vs $10/month monthly, Pro is $16/month yearly vs $20/month monthly, and Max is $33/month yearly vs $40/month monthly. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time from your account settings. All prices are in USD.
